The owner of our agency, Pauline Guy, is the author of the Alphabet Rocks children’s book and the creator of the Alphabet Rocks umbrellas. For many years children have been the focus of Ms. Guy’s attention and she has committed a greater part of her time to their welfare and education.
As the current wave of children’s books floods the market, the growing demand for innovative children’s books and learning materials grows. With so many books being published and released each year, educators along with parents need to make choices that count for their children. The first years of learning are the most important which is why Ms. Guy has put so much thought into the content of her book. In determining what to include in it, she carefully considered each facet of what makes most children’s books fun and memorable.
The whole idea behind writing this book was to provide the nannies, mannies governesses and baby sitters registered with our agency another book to add to their collection that would stimulate the children under their care, provide them with loads of fun while being educational at the same time. Throughout Ms. Guy’s writing process Ms. Guy was getting feedback from the clients, the nannies, the mannies and the real judges – the kids.
When the children were asked what they would like to accompany the book, the overwhelming response was not T-shirts, not lunch boxes but a unanimous “Umbrellas that Rock!” We obliged.
